Amira Aleem is a writer raised in India now based in the UK. Having worked in international development and charities for many years, she is thrilled to be making creative writing training accessible to women & NB in India. As a minority woman who has straddled several cultures in India and the UK, she’s proud to be facilitating Write like a Grrrl courses with a focus on India and to help diversify who gets to tell stories.

Everyone has a story to tell!
And we’re here to help you tell it! Come and join our Write like a Grrrl India community! For six weeks, we’ll provide you with the tools to get your words on the page. We’ll examine plot, dialogue, character development and help you develop a regular creative writing practice with the support of the best community to cheer you on.
This course is for you if you’d like to read more South-Asian writers and stories that better represent South-Asian self-identifying women. No previous experience is needed and you are not expected to share writing. Our workshops are small and friendly and take place live for two hours via zoom once a week for six weeks. This your chance to creatively express yourself and meet like-minded women & NB to write the kind of stories you want to read in a safe and supportive environment.
