YA workshop: Strengthen Your Voice 5th Feb

In this two-hour workshop you will learn how to develop and identify your voice as a writer of teen fiction.

Using best in class examples from contemporary YA novels, you’ll discover how to create a voice that feels authentic to teen readers and sets your work apart from the crowd. We’ll take a deep dive into how to develop and trust your voice and what readers connect with and why. 

Whether you’re at the ideas stage or your novel is near-completion, this workshop will give you the essentials to help get your novel on the shelves!



Alexandra Sheppard is a children’s author from London, UK. Her debut YA novel ‘Oh My Gods’ was published by Scholastic and featured in Buzzfeed, Refinery29 and The Guardian’s Summer Reading List. It was also shortlisted for the Bristol Teen Book Award 2019. Her short story was featured in the 2020 Knights Of anthology ‘Happy Here’ and her debut middle-grade novel is coming soon.
She has led creative writing workshops for Write Mentor, Writers & Artists, Ruckus Retreat and dozens of secondary schools around the UK.
