Book now for Inspire  our second-level six-week creative writing course. Inspire is the follow-on course for our entry-level course, Ignite. But you are very welcome if you haven’t completed Ignite too.

If you’ve written a short story or had a go at a novel, or have just an idea and want constructive feedback in a supportive group of writers, then Inspire is for you.

Don’t worry if you only have a scrap of writing or an idea, you’re very welcome whatever stage you’re at and there is no pressure to share.

This six-week course offers weekly critique workshops as well as sessions on advanced writing techniques such as: modes of narration; pace; plotting a novel; editing; how to strengthen your regular writing practice; and how to read like a writer. The course includes a Q&A session with a literary agent or published author as well as sure-fire strategies on how to maintain motivation once the course is over.

Kirsty Jones is a Bristol based writer. Her work has been published with Grind&bearing Press, Nightingale & Sparrow, Dear Damsels and others. Nominated for the Pushcart Prize and featured on BBC Radio Bristol, she has worked with Vanessa Kisuule to develop spoken word performances for world class venue, St George’s. Kirsty performed at Bristol’s Party on the Green in 2023 alongside City Poet, Kat Lyons, and is currently working on her first poetry collection.
