Welcome to Nature

18th January -22nd Feb

7-9pm Tuesdays SOLD OUT

In recent times, writing about nature has seemed even more necessary. With this course, we will explore our own personal connections with nature, find our voices and question what we understand nature to be.

This course will also explore a wide range of diverse nature writers who consider how identity impacts our relationship with the environment. We’ll also examine how they, and we, approach issues such as neurodiversity, colonialism and disability.

We want to empower you to write about nature in the way that suits you, whether that’s through poetry or prose, fiction or non-fiction! We’ll be doing lots of exercises to fire up your imagination, help you gain confidence and find stories in the nature that exists in everyday and even domestic spaces.

We’ll also be thinking about writing nature in the time of climate crisis and exploring the difficulties and emotions of this in a safe space. How can we use writing to process our climate grief? How can we use our creativity to write different futures into being?

If you want to explore your connection with nature creatively, whether you’ve written before or not – and whatever you write! – this Write like a Grrrl course is for you!

This course is online via zoom. Numbers limited.
