Welcome, welcome to our AUGUST in-person retreat at the Burlington Hotel in Folkestone! We’ve run three sold-out retreats this year and by popular demand we have now opened up a 12/13 August retreat!
So come join us for two days of creative nurturing by the sea with guidance and support from Write like a Grrrl founder and award-winning writer, Kerry Ryan.
Booking a writing retreat is self-care. You’ll spend two nurturing days with understanding, welcoming and supportive humans who will encourage your creativity and allow you to nourish yourself in the best way possible. Evening social events are optional. Your time is your own and you shape your retreat to suit you. So what are you waiting for?
Retreats are notoriously expensive so WLAG has worked hard to make this two-day retreat affordable. You book accommodation of your choice which matches your budget & on booking the retreat, you’ll be sent suggestions of where you can stay. Folkestone offers a range of wonderful accommodation from budget to luxe.
Lunch with vegan/veg options both days, coffee and tea & biscuits, and a one-to-one session with Kerry are included in the retreat cost. You’ll be guided through gentle writing sprints on Saturday & Sunday and leave the retreat with a clear idea of how to write into Autumn and beyond!

RETREAT INFO…
Each day you’ll set your writing intentions and be encouraged to meet those goals with set writing sprints. We’ll also have regular check-ins during the day with lots of breaks to keep you going.
We start at 9:30 am on Saturday at the Burlington Hotel with check-in and warm ups. We then have writing sprints up until 4:30pm (option to write until 6pm both days).
You’ll have time for walks after lunch and lots of tea & biscuits throughout the day.
On Sunday, we start at 10:00 am and we finish at 3:30pm and send you off to meet Autumn full of positivity and confidence.
The Burlington is grand Victorian 4-star hotel set in tranquil surroundings in Folkestone’s West End, overlooking the famous Leas Promenade and the English Channel.
The Burlington Hotel was built in the 1890s and retains its charm whilst offering all the mod cons expected of a contemporary hotel.
